Body parts that have washed up on a popular tourist beach in Fiji have been identified as belonging to missing Russian couple Yuri and Natalia Shipulin. The expats were reported missing by their business partner last month. Several of the body parts have been founded in weighted bags – a police investigation is underway.

Police in Fiji say they believe a Russian couple who were reported missing last month were killed and their bodies dismembered.

Since the disappearance of Yuri and Natalia Shipulin, several body parts have been found washed up on the popular Natadola beach.

Among the grim discoveries were two pairs of severed feet wrapped up and in netting that had been weighed down with stones.

Missing Russian couple killed

Their business partner reported them missing and their vehicle registration PILOT was found on Natadola Beach Road a few days after their disappearance.

As investigations continued into their disappearance, some body parts were found on the beach and a further search led to the discovery of more.

Through the assistance of INTERPOL, the results of tests carried out in Fiji were sent abroad for DNA tests.

Natadola beach in Fiji is often referred to as the world’s most beautiful stretch of sand. That was until body parts started washing up on the shore.

Last month two pairs of human feet were found at the popular tourist spot. Then this week a New Zealand couple made another grisly find: a human head, wrapped in green cloth and weighed down by rocks, bobbing in shallow waters a few metres from shore.
