On Wednesday of last week an RAF serviceman was jogging by himself near RAF Marham in Norfolk. Two men approached him, one holding a ‘military type knife’, and tried to force him into a car. He broke free after headbutting one of the men and a manhunt is underway. The serviceman was wearing headphones at the time of the attack and did not hear what was said/shouted. (Source)
Authorities are treating this as an attempted abduction and have warned that the two men are likely part of a larger group.
Service personnel have been warned to remain vigilant in the wake of this incident and to avoid wearing uniforms in public and to be careful what is shared on social media.
