A week after the devastating earthquake struck Amatrice, the local people are trying to pick up their broken lives. Mass funerals and a national day of mourning have been held to mark the deaths of over 290 people. It is estimated that over a thousand people have been displaced, and efforts are underway to build shelters for them before autumn turns to winter.
