A postmortem has found that a Bangladeshi manager working for the microfinance NGO BRAC Uganda was strangled to death. Hammed Maimuddin was killed at the BRAC office in Lira last week during what appears to have been a robbery. A colleague, James Aworu, was hospitalised after being hit during the attack.

Bangladeshi national was strangled – police

A Bangladesh national who was found dead in Lira Town on Monday morning died due to strangulation, a postmortem report has revealed. 

Hammed MD Maimuddin, 54, who has been the area manager for small enterprises for Brac Uganda, a micro-finance institution, was found dead at their offices in Te-obia, Central Division in Lira Municipal Council on Tuesday. His passport number BL0211172 was recovered at the scene.
