Latest update: Tropical cyclone Enawo is forecast to make landfall on 7 March 2017, between the district of Antalaha in the north-east and the commune of Foulpointe in the east. It’s then forecast to cross the highlands, including Antananarivo, before heading south. Damage caused by high winds is expected particularly on the coast between Maroantsetra and Toamasina. Heavy rainfall is predicted and resulting floods could affect eight regions (Analanjirofo, Atsinanana, Sofia, Alaotra Mangoro, Analamanga, Menabe, Vatovavy Fitovinany and Atsimo Andrefana).
