FRIDAY UPDATE CAN BE FOUND HERE: Global: Jerusalem decision – further safety warnings issued, al Qaeda makes threats, protests and unrest around the world

A wave of travel advisories were issued following President Trump’s announcement yesterday that the US will recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The decision was met with concern and dismay from many world leaders.

There are serious concerns that the protests could escalate into serious violence. If you or a client are visiting or working in a country that has a history of anti-American sentiment, please review and act on safety considerations as soon as possible.

A round up of the travel advisories follows, with some media coverage included at the end. Please monitor the various embassy channels for further updates.
