Alert: Demonstrations in N’Djamena
Stone throwing at vehicles and use of tear gas by government security forces to disperse demonstrators
Diplomatic personnel at the U.S. Embassy are not permitted to drive personal vehicles today or Tuesday morning. Movements by U.S. Government personnel are restricted between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Tuesday and they are advised to avoid areas where protestors gather.
Actions to Take: Review your personal security plans. Avoid crowds and demonstrations. Monitor local media for updates. Check regularly for updates from the Embassy and the U.S. Department of State.
